Brakepads are an integral part of the braking system in vehicles which provides vehicle motion on demand by applying friction with brake rotor initiated by the driver through application of brakes. That friction generates heat, which in turn aids the car's deceleration to a stop. Over time, as with everything we come to find, our brake pads have been developed into several different types; namely ceramic, semi-metallic and organic (also referred to as non-asbestos friction material or NAFM) brake pads for greater performance through technological advancements. That means noise-dampening shims, and it also means some sort of slots or grooves perhaps both for heat dissipation. Brake pads are used in a broad range between the passenger cars to heavy duty trucks that aid help a driver by providing safety and maintaining control over a certain area.
